Opus 16 Release Notes
Opus 16, No. 10, in beta
- Images without audio clips, if displayed in the album, now don't respond to mouse-hovering - no "hand" cursor, no inflation or grayscale.
- UI changes to make better use of recent jAlbum core updates (custom skin icon, scrolling panels).
- More efficient routine for excluding unsupported objects. Unsupported objects are not included in the album, but they're no longer excluded in the Explore view. To avoid seeing the warning message each time you make the album, either delete the unsupported objects, or mark them as "excluded" manually. A list of the unsupported objects appears in the system console when the album is built.
- Fix for an out-of-sync animation bug when using record player mode and the automated playlist and/or shuffle play.
Opus 16, No. 9, Sep. 3, 2023
- Option to use a relative URL for the favicon.
- Redirected help links.
Opus 16, No. 8, Aug. 29, 2023
- Option to render the theme image in grayscale (i.e., black and white).
- Improved feedback on the Make New and Make Old buttons in the individual image settings.
Opus 16, No. 7, Aug. 15, 2023
- Option to both inflate thumbnails when hovered, and also make them grayscale.
- Thumbnail hover action options for audio thumbnails are ignored if "record player" option is chosen. These can't be combined in CSS. The hover actions remain active for folder thumbnails.
- Correct link to the skin page on the About tab.
Opus 16, No. 6, Aug. 3, 2023
- Record player option added, purely for amusement.
- jQuery update.
Opus 16, No. 5, Jul. 11, 2023
- Improved behavior of the marker on the active track.
- Removed the option for a parallax theme image. This proved to be incompatible with the skin's "scroll to current track" behavior, as it presented a moving target. A project that was saved with the parallax theme image chosen will, upon loading, be converted to one that uses a full page theme image.
- Removed the audio preloading attribute. Browsers generally do the right thing automatically.
- Scripting tightened and modularized.
- Removed some unreachable and/or unneeded code.
Opus 16, No. 4, Jun. 30, 2023
- Option for shuffle play of the audio tracks. If the visitor launches shuffle play, it immediately starts playing a randomly-selected track on the page, then plays the remaining tracks in a random order. Tracks are not repeated unless the loop mode is also chosen. Each time shuffle play is manually turned off and turned on again, a new random sequence is generated.
- If the visitor launches the playlist, it immediately starts playing the first audio track on the page, then plays the remaining tracks, in order. If the loop mode is also chosen, it then repeats the sequence.
- If the visitor enables loop mode, but not the playlist or shuffle play, the first track played by the visitor will repeat until the loop mode is disabled.
- More intuitive playlist icons, to indicate active vs. inactive status.
- Extensive internal code changes.
Opus 16, No. 3, Jun. 21, 2023
- Option to provide site visitors with an automated playlist of the tracks on the page, with a further option to loop endlessly through the clips, or to stop at the last track. The page automatically scrolls to the currently-playing track. Tracks can be paused and re-started without interrupting the playlist. Modes (automated playlist or not, looping or not) can be changed by the visitor at any time.
- Images that don't have audio clips now display no audio control bar, rather than a dimmed-out set of controls.
- Option to ignore images that don't have audio clips. If this option is chosen, no rows will appear on the output page for these objects.
- The file names of images that don't have audio clips are written out to the system console.
- Additional color options when using the Custom style.
- Some code refinements to accommodate thumbnails that don't have audio clips.
- Some unreachable code removed.
- Small bug fixes.
Opus 16, No. 2, Jun. 15, 2023
- The audio thumbnails are now clickable, and mimic the actions of the audio control bar's own "play/pause" icons.
